My daughter and I purchased this sensational young boy after an extensive search of Spain, from the renowned stud of Pedro Madza. Galero XIV arrived in Australia in July 2002 as a yearling. Unfortunately not long after arrival, Galero XIV was seriously injured in a freak accident, which has ended his led career. However, regardless, Galero's stunning ''Look at me'' presence, super conformation, immaculate pedigree and absolute ''to die for'' movement, will ensure his place as one of the best stallions in Australia. His jet-black colour is a bonus.

Special thanks is made to Miriam Frenk, the Director of The International Andalusian Horse Brokers, for her hard work travelling to Spain with us and locating Galero XIV.

Lastur

Lastur

Galero's sire Lastur is by the world renowned Spanish Stallion Gaucho III. The famous stud of Senorio de Bariain bred both Gaucho III and Lastur. Lastur was retained as the principal stallion after Gaucho III was purchased by Janne Rumbough and taken to America in 1998. Like Galero, Lastur was injured as a young stallion and hence was not shown however he has several young progeny that are making their mark on the dressage world.

Gaucho III

Gaucho III

Gaucho III is a very striking stallion known for his big movement. A successful in-hand horse in Spain, he won ''Best Movement'' in SICAB in Sevilla as a four year old and has many points in the ANCC ''Book of Merits'' both for confirmation and movement. Since competing in America Gaucho III has been Region 111 Prix St Georges Champion, Intermediate 1 Freestyle Champion and has qualified for the ''Festive of Champions'' and Dressage at Devon several times. In breeding classes for Stallions Suitable for Dressage at the 1998 Devon Dressage CDI*** and Breed Show, Gaucho III was reserve Champion in the 4 years old and older stallion in-hand class and Reserve Champion in the 4 year old and older stallions under saddle class. In 2000 he was on the American dressage shortlist for the Olympics held in Sydney, Australia.

Galero XIV also shares lines with the current top Spanish dressage horse ''Invasor'' who is by Panadero V111, Gaucho III's sire. No wonder Galero XIV can move!

Judia XIV

Judia XIV

Galero's dam Judia VIX is also a well-performed mare having consistently been placed in the top three at major shows in Spain. Some of her success are listed:

2000 Torrelvega Show - 1st in her category,
Best Movement and Champion.
2000 SICAB, Sevilla - In top 10 of 3-year-old mares.
2002 Oviedo Show - 3rd Mares 4 - 5 year old mares.
2002 Torrelvega Show - 1st Mares 4 - 5 year old mares.

Galero XIV's pedigree combines the best Military, Terry, Escarlera, Paco Laza and de Bariain lines that Spain has to offer.
